Severe storms caused Friday's Newman Catholic softball game at Auburndale to get postponed until Monday. Monday it's was the Auburndale offense that blew in to lead the Eagles to a 15-0 win over the Cardinals in 3 innings in a game that was broadcast on the Wausau Area Sports YouTube channel.

After Auburndale pitcher Morgan Griesbach set Newman down in order in the top of the 1st inning, Griesbach started the bottom of the 1st with a home run over the center field fence to spark a 6 run inning for the Eagles. After sending 11 batters to the plate in the 1st, Auburndale would send another 10 to the plate in the 2nd en route to another 6 run inning. Griesbach added another RBI on a double in the inning while Breleigh Grimm, Myah Katzenberger and Chesney Nagel all added RBI hits in the inning. Griesbach pitched the first two innings retiring all six batters she faced with 5 strikeouts and Katzenberg threw the third inning with three straight strikeouts. Auburndale is now 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the Marawood-South while Newman falls to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the league.

The Merrill softball team pounded out 14 hits and won at Wausau East 12-3 on Monday afternoon. Miley Krueger hit a two-run double to spark a 4-run Bluejay top of the third inning that broke a scoreless tie. Krueger finished the game 2 for 3 with those 2 RBI.
