The D.C. Everest football team found themselves in some trouble in the 3rd quarter of their game vs. Menomonie at Stiehm Stadium. Football: Wausau West scores last second touchdown to rally past Rice Lake to stay unbeaten.
For about five seconds nobody at Thom Field knew if Wausau West or Rice Lake had won their non-conference match up. With :12 left in the game and trailing 21-20, Wausau West had the ball inches from the goal line but had no timeouts. Foregoing a field goal attempt, the Warriors had quarterback Jackson Riley attempt a sneak. No matter the sport, it seems that when Marathon and Auburndale get together it leads to a thrilling finish. The Wausau East boys' soccer team kicked off the 2026 season with a 4-0 victory over River Falls on Tuesday night.
