Just over a month before the 2026 high school football season kicks off on August 20th. Wausau Area Sports is very happy to announce that we will be airing every Wausau West and Newman Catholic High School football game during the 2026 season starting with the week 1 match ups of Wausau West at Menomonie on Thursday, August 20th and Newman Catholic's season opener vs. Algoma on Friday, August 21st. Pregame activities will start for each game at 6:40 pm with opening kickoff

The Wausau Post 10 American Legion baseball team broke open a tight game with 7 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning and beat Merrill Post 46 11-1 in five innings at Wausau East High School on Tuesday night. Because of the low to mid 90 degree heat, the original scheduled doubleheader was switched to a single game. Post 10 started quickly with a pair of runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Baseball: Wausau Post 10 wins a pair of games in Minnesota on Saturday
After losing a pair of games on Friday to start the Gopher Classic in Woodbury, Minnesota the Wausau Post 10 American Legion baseball team bounced back with a pair of wins on Saturday. The Bulldogs beat Forest Lake 8-0 in 5 innings and Woodbury 7-2. In the opening win vs. Forest Lake, Wausau jumped ahead quickly with three runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Baseball: Blaubach stays hot at the plate but Wausau Post 10 falls to Marshfield on Monday.
Breck Blaubach stayed hot with three more hits but the Wausau Post 10 American Legion baseball team fell to Marshfield 8-4 at Athletic Park on Monday night. Blaubach, who was 4 for 4 on Sunday in a win at Stevens Point, now has 7 hits in his last 8 at bats after going 3 for 4 on Monday.
