Quillan Kunkel had three hits and 2 RBI while Blake Underwood tossed a complete game allowing just 1 earned run as the Marathon baseball team rolled past Edgar 9-3 on Thursday.

Grant Salber had a 2 RBI single and Kunkel added an RBI single as part of a 3 run bottom of the 2nd inning to give Marathon a 3-0 lead. After Edgar pulled within one at 3-2 in the third, Marathon would pull away with three runs in both the 4th and 5th innings. In the 4th inning Kunkel had his 3rd hit of the game, an RBI single, to help the Raiders extend the lead to 6-2. In the bottom of the 5th Grant Salber had a bases load walk and two more came in on a fielder's choice and error.

Underwood went the distance on just 84 pitches, allowing 8 hits, 3 runs, only 1 of which was earned with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Marathon has now won 9 games in a row to improve to 16-3 overall and 7-1 in the Marawood-South. The Raiders remain tied with Stratford atop the league standings and will host Regis in a non-conference game on Friday.
