Softball: Wausau East battles but falls at Ashwaubenon in D-1 regional semifinal

The Wausau East softball team saw their 2026 season end on Tuesday as the 13th seeded Lumberjacks fell at 4th seeded Ashwaubenon 7-1. A 4 run third inning proved to be the big frame for the Jaguars, who advance to a regional final on Thursday vs. 5th seeded West De Pere.

Adriana Bodner pitched well for East, tossing a complete game and allowing just three earned runs on 7 hits with just one walk and 2 strikeouts. The Lumberjacks scored their run in the 6th when, after two out, Taylor Dykstra doubled and then scored on an error. East threatened to make it a bigger inning as Claire Gille singled to put runners on the corners but were retired without scoring any additional runs.
