Baseball: Wausau Post 10 wins a pair of games in Minnesota on Saturday

After losing a pair of games on Friday to start the Gopher Classic in Woodbury, Minnesota the Wausau Post 10 American Legion baseball team bounced back with a pair of wins on Saturday. The Bulldogs beat Forest Lake 8-0 in 5 innings and Woodbury 7-2.
In the opening win vs. Forest Lake, Wausau jumped ahead quickly with three runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. With one out Davis Winter doubled to center and scored on a Iain Stahel double. Gaige Stockwell followed with a single that put runners on the corners. Stahel would score on an errant pickoff attempt to make it 2-0 and Connor Lemirand would hit a sacrifice fly to give Wausau a 3-0 lead after 1 inning.
Post 10 would add a pair of runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning, two more in the 4th and once more in the 5th to aid starting pitcher Davis Winter. Winter tossed a 3-hit shutout in 5 innings while striking out 5 and walking none. Stahel went 2 for 2 with 3 RBI to lead the offense.
In the second game against Woodbury, Stahel continued his hot hitting with a 3 for 3 performance and two runs scored. Stahel also starred on the mound with a complete game effort, tossing 7 innings while allowing just 2 runs (both of which were unearned) on 4 hits with 4 walks and 3 strikeouts. Connor Lemirand had 4 RBI in the game for Post 10 while James Dennis had two hits as well.
Wausau improves their overall record to 11-19 on the season with the victory.
