Boys golf: Newman Catholic wins D-3 team regional at Pine Valley with Jacob Fox earning medalist honors

The Newman Catholic boys' golf team had three of the top six individual scores and took first place in the team standings at the WIAA Division 3 golf meet at Pine Valley on Tuesday.

Jacob Fox paced the Cardinals with a score of 77 that was the meet medalist. Abram Jacobson of Marathon was 2nd at the meet with a score of 79 with Northland Lutheran's Philip Oblender firing an 81 to finish 3rd. Newman's Michael Fox tied for 4th individually with a round of 84 while teammate Lucas Pfiffner tied for 6th with an 87.

Newman, Marathon, Pacelli and Nekoosa all qualified their teams for the Division 3 sectional to be played next week at Trempealeau Mountain Golf Club with tickets to the state tournament on the line.
