Boys golf: DC Everest wins team title at Division 1 regional at Greenwood Hills with DCE's May and Wausau East's Krambs tied for 2nd individually

The D.C. Everest boys' golf team won the Division 1 regional tournament at Greenwood Hills with a team score of 304 (+16) to top the 2nd place tie between Wisconsin Rapids and Stevens Point by 12 shots. Wausau East was 4th with a team score of 322 to also qualify for the sectional tournament. The top four teams in the regional move on to sectional play along with the top four individuals who are not members of a qualifying team.

The Evergreens were led by Zachary May who shot a 72 to tie for 2nd place individually with Wausau East's Sawyer Krambs one shot behind meet medalist Trent Breitbach of Stevens Point. Everest's Ben Zoesch and Karter Quevillon tied for 5th individually with scores of 75.

East was paced by Krambs' 72 along with a 74 from Sam Barthels that placed him 4th individually. Wausau West finished 8th as a team with a score of 332 and that doesn't qualify the team for sectionals. However, Warrior sophomore Kaden Jeske did qualify as an individual with a score of 81 that placed him tied for 13th and among the top four scores of a player not part of one of the top four teams that moved to sectionals.

Trips to the state tournament will be on the line next week at the Division 1 sectional that will be played at RiverEdge in Marshfield.
