Breck Blaubach stayed hot with three more hits but the Wausau Post 10 American Legion baseball team fell to Marshfield 8-4 at Athletic Park on Monday night. Blaubach, who was 4 for 4 on Sunday in a win at Stevens Point, now has 7 hits in his last 8 at bats after going 3 for 4 on Monday.

Marshfield jumped out to a 3-0 lead after a run in the 1st and two more runs in the 2nd inning before Wausau got on the board in the bottom of the 2nd when Blaubach singled home Carson Thurs to cut the deficit to 3-1. Marshfield would add a run in the top of the 4th to reestablish a 3 run lead at 4-1.

Wausau had a chance to erase the deficit and even take the lead in the bottom of the 5th as the inning started with singles from Gaige Stockwell, Blaubach and Parker Helke to load the bases. That was followed by a bases loaded walk to Iain Stahel to force in a run to make it 4-2 with still none out in the inning. Post 10 pulled within 4-3 on a ground out by Connor Lemirand that scored Blaubach. Davis Winter then walked to again load the bases with just one out but a strike out and ground out followed to get Marshfield out of the jam and maintaining a one run lead.

Marshfield got an RBI single from Dawson Luther in the top of the 6th to take a 5-3 lead but Wausau again had a great chance to tie or take the lead in the bottom of the 6th. For the second straight inning Post 10 got three singles to start the frame as Marshal Helke, Stockwell and Blaubach each reached base safely. Again, for the second straight inning, a bases loaded walk forced in a run as Parker Helke forced in the run with a base on balls to make it 5-4. The bases were loaded with none out but Wausau couldn't get the tying run across as the next three batters were each retired with no runs coming in.

Marshfield then got some insurance in the top of the 7th inning with three runs to finish the scoring in their 8-4 win. Luther finished 4 for 4 with 5 RBI in the game for Marshfield. In addition to Blaubach's three hits, Wausau got two hits each from Marshal Helke and Gaige Stockwell but fall to 9-17 on the season. Marshfield improves to 13-7.
