Wausau West Spring Signing Day: 9 Wausau West student-athletes announce college plans on Wednesday.

Wednesday it was the Spring Signing Day at Wausau West as 9 Warrior student-athletes announced their college plans for this fall. Here is information on those West signees:



Shea Jones and Teigan Rasmus both will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and playing football for the Warhawks. Both Jones and Rasmus were 1st Team all-Wisconsin Valley Conference in football in 2025 (Jones at Tight End and Rasmus at Defensive End). Also both are multi-sport athletes with all-conference recognition on the West hockey team as defensemen.


Mya Rice signed on to continue her soccer career at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Rice, a midfielder for the Warriors' soccer team, was honorable mention all-WVC as a junior in 2025, when she scored three goals in conference play, and is leading the 2026 squad whose season recently got underway.


Maci Heise of the West Track and Field team, will be continuing her academic and athletic career at Minnesota State-Mankato. As Heise continues her senior season this spring, she already has a truckload of accomplishments in her Warrior career. Heise was the state champion last year in the 300 meter hurdles and also won Wisconsin Valley Conference titles in the 300 hurdles along with the 100 and 200 meters.


West boys' soccer standout Alex Voigt announced he will continue on the pitch at Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois. Voigt was a 1st Team all-Wisconsin Valley Conference selection at center back last fall as a senior after being 1st Team all-WVC as a defender in his junior season and 2nd Team all-WVC as a sophomore.


Wausau West volleyball all-conference performer Addy Vaughn will be playing her college volleyball at Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa. Vaughn, the Warriors' libero, was 1st Team all-Wisconsin Valley Conference as a senior. Last fall Vaughn was the WVC leader in digs per set, total digs and service aces while ranking 5th in the league in serving percentage.


Wausau West senior and Central Wisconsin Storm captain Madeline Kelter signed on to play WIAC women's hockey at UW-Stevens Point starting next season. Kelter was 1st Team all-Wisconsin Valley Conference and the league's Player of the Year this past season after scoring 16 goals and adding 14 assists. Madeline finished her career with 38 goals, 68 assists and 106 points.


Three-sport athlete Jaidyn Oelke will continue her athletic career at North Dakota State College of Science on the softball diamond. Oelke has won multiple letters in volleyball, basketball and softball and is currently the starting shortstop on the West softball team.


Grace Kallio will be heading east to continue her academic and athletic career at Vermont State University at Castleton. Kallio will participate in both alpine skiing and soccer. Kallio led the Wausau/DC Everest alpine ski team to a conference championship as a senior. Grace was a standout in all disciplines, leading the team in Super G, slalom and giant slalom. At the state meet she was second in both the giant slalom and Super G and finished 3rd overall.
