Soccer: Wausau West rallies twice in the second half to earn a tie vs. SPASH.

The Wausau West boys' soccer team rallied twice on Tuesday night to tie SPASH 2-2 at Johnson Field. After a scoreless first half, the game opened up with four combined goals in the final 40 minutes.

SPASH got on the board first in the 50th minute as Sander Dinga headed in a free kick from Liam Nimm to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. The Warriors got back to even about 10 minutes later as Kaito Lor was taken down in the left side of the penalty area and a penalty kick was called. Lor then calmly put the PK past SPASH goalie Fred Juliani to make it 1-1.

The final 10 minutes of the match featured two more goals. First, with about 7 minutes remaining, Stevens Point regained the lead on a Zachariah Zillman goal. That goal made it look like the Panthers would maintain, at least, a share of first place in the conference. However, West had other ideas as, in the 77th minute, John Oonk would tie it up with the goal that would end the game with a 2-2 tie.

SPASH drops to 2-0-1 in the Valley while the Warriors are no 0-2-1. The Warriors will host Bay Port in a non-conference game on Thursday at Johnson Field.
