Football: Wausau Area Sports Honor Roll for Outstanding Performances in Week 1

Each week Wausau Area Sports will highlight some of the top performances on the football field from players in the area with our "Honor Roll".

Here are the Week 1 Honor Roll recipients from the area:

Offense:

Wausau West RB Miles Waldvogel: The senior started the 2026 season with a massive performance in the Warriors' 36-21 win at Menomonie. Waldvogel carried 24 times for 227 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Marathon WR Garrett Bracewell: The senior started 2026 where he left in off 2025 with a huge performance in the Red Raiders' 24-16 win over Loyal/Greenwood. Bracewell caught 12 passes for 193 yards and 2 TD's.

Marathon QB Brayson Schneider: The sophomore made his first start at quarterback a good one in the win over Loyal/Greenwood by hitting 16 of 22 passes for 236 yards and 3 touchdowns. In addition, Schneider was 3 for 3 kicking extra points and added a 29 yard field goal.

Wausau East RB Cash Ryan Seefeldt: Seefeldt was the workhorse in the backfield for the Lumberjacks in their 28-0 win over Shawano. Seefeldt carried the ball 26 times for 110 yards and scored the first two touchdowns of the night and the season.

D.C. Everest QB Ty Rohde: With the Evergreens falling behind early in their loss at Chippewa Falls, the sophomore was forced to the air early and often. Rohde hit 20 of 32 passes for 272 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception.

Newman Catholic TE/QB Jacob Fox: Fox came on as the third quarterback of the night after starting at tight end and catching a pass for 9 yards. In one drive at QB, Fox led Newman to their only touchdown with 6 carries for 64 yards and scored the touchdown.

Defense:

Wausau West DL Dashawn Poulos: Helping the Warriors' defense shutdown the Mustangs offense through most of the night by winning the battle at the line of scrimmage, Poulos had 10 tackles including 3 for losses.

Mosinee LB Max Harris: The sophomore was busy in Mosinee's season-opener at Stratford. Harris made 11 tackles (6 solo) with 1 for a loss in the 31-0 defeat.

Wausau East LB Aiden Kilde: Kilde had an interception that set up East's 2nd touchdown late in the first half and gave the Lumberjacks a bigger edge heading into the intermission. Kilde also had 10 tackles in the game, with 2 tackles for loss.

Wausau East LB Xander Klein: Another Lumberjack senior who helped East to the season-opening shutout win over Shawano. Klein also hit the double digit level in tackles with 10 on Friday night.

Marathon LB Landon Hilgart: Hilgart helped slow down a good Loyal/Greenwood offense in the Raiders' season-opening win with 11 tackles on the night, including 6 solo stops. Hilgart also recovered a fumble in the win.

Marathon LB Koltyn Stevens: The sophomore also had a big night in Marathon's hard fought win over L/G with 11 tackles, 5 of which were solo stops and 1 tackle for loss.

D.C. Everest DB Vander Truax: In a tought night for the Evergreens at Chippewa Falls, the senior was active on both sides of the ball. Truax caught a pair of passes for 33 yards but was especially active on defense with 10 tackles, 8 of which were solo.
