A tough Thursday for the D.C. Everest baseball team, who saw Marshfield score four times in the bottom of the 7th inning to rally past the Evergreens 7-6. Everest jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first on a wild pitch followed by an error that scored a run and an RBI groundball by Ryan Schulz. Marshfield would plate one run in the first and two more in the third to lead 3-2 before Everest took the lead in the 4th on an RBI groundout by Ty Rohde followed by an RBI single by Cooper Richie to make it 4-3 Everest. Caden Allen would extend the Evergreen lead to 5-3 on a fielder's choice grounder that scored Aiden Haupt. Haupt would then give Everest what looked to be insurance on an RBI single in the 7th to make it 6-3. Haupt finished with 3 hits and an RBI on the game.

Marshfield would load the bases in the bottom of the 7th with no out when Jakob Sadowska would single in a run to cut the deficit to 6-4. That was followed by a fly ball double play that put Everest to within one out of the victory. However, after a hit batsmen loaded the bases, Mason Anderson would drive a ball to the fence in left field that scored all three baserunners to win the game 7-6 for the Tigers. Everest will return to action Friday at home vs. Wausau West in a game where the time has been moved up to 1 pm because of expected storms later in the day. The Wausau West at D.C. Everest baseball match up will be broadcast live on the Wausau Area Sports YouTube channel starting with the pregame at 12:45 pm.
