After winning at 3rd seeded D.C. Everest on Tuesday in a Division 1 boys' soccer regional semifinal, the 6th seeded Wausau West Warriors hit the road again on Saturday looking for another upset at 2nd seeded Eau Claire Memorial. Battling from behind all game long, West's last minute pressure came up short as the Old Abes advance to sectionals with a 3-2 win.

Eau Claire Memorial led for almost the entire game as the Abes got on the board just 1:16 into the first half when Drew Hudson scored and it was 1-0. It stayed that way for almost the remainder of the first half but ECM added to their lead with just under 3 minutes left in the half on a second goal by Hudson and it was 2-0 Abes at the intermission.

Wausau West would get within 2-1 early in the 2nd half when Grant Culver scored in the 45th minute. However, Memorial would reestablish a two goal lead at 3-1 in the 53rd minute as Santi Arbeibide found the back of the net. West nearly got that goal back in the 62nd minute as the Warriors' Jli Deegudtum beat the goalkeeper but a shot hit the post and it stayed 3-1.

The Warriors weren't done however, as Holden Koehler scored with 10 minutes left to make it 3-2. West would push for the equalizer, including a pair of set piece chances in the final minute, but would see their season end with the 3-2 loss. Eau Claire Memorial moves on to a sectional semifinal on Thursday against Hudson. West completes their season at 7-10-4.

In a Division 2 regional final, a tough first half proved to be the difference as 4th seeded Wausau East lost at top seeded New Richmond 4-0. All four Tigers' goals came in the first 25 minutes of the game. New Richmond's Isaiah Bergdahl got the scoring underway just 45 seconds into the first half with a goal. In the 8th minute, Paxton Schoonover doubled the New Richmond lead with a goal and it was 2-0.

New Richmond kept pushing and made it 3-0 just over 15 minutes in when Bergdahl scored his second goal of the game. Bergdahl then completed a first half hat trick at 24:30 and it was 4-0. There would be no scoring the rest of the way and New Richmond advanceds to a sectional semifinal against Superior on Thursday. East wraps up the 2026 season with a 10-6-4 record.
