Boys Soccer: WIAA announces part of the playoff brackets with Wausau West at D.C. Everest highlighting 1st round games.

The WIAA on Saturday announced some brackets for the playoffs that begin on Tuesday, October 20th. A number of brackets have yet to be released and will be announced in the next couple of days. There are four divisions with each sectional winner advancing to the WIAA State Tournament at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee that will be held November 5th to the 7th.

4 of the 6 Wisconsin Valley Conference teams compete in Division 1, Sectional 1. D.C. Everest is seeded 3rd and will host 6th seeded Wausau West in a regional semifinal on Tuesday, October 20th. The winner of that game will advance to face the winner of the match up of 7th seeded Chippewa Falls and 2nd seed Eau Claire Memorial. Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln is the 5 seed and makes the long trip to 4th seeded Superior. The winner will next take on either top seed Hudson or 8th seeded Eau Claire North. SPASH is in the bottom half of that sectional (which is seeded by regions) and seeded 5th. The Panthers will travel to 4th seeded Appleton North. The winner will then play either #1 seed De Pere or 8th seeded Appleton West.

The other two WVC teams are in Division 2. Wausau East is a 4 seed and earns a first round home game against 5th seeded Onalaska. The winner will face either top seeded New Richmond or 8th seeded River Falls. Marshfield is seeded 6th and will travel to 3rd seeded La Crosse Central.

In Division 4, Newman Catholic is seeded 9th in their regional and will travel to Regis/McDonell in a first round game with the winner getting a trip to top seeded Northland Pines. Faith Christian Academy of Wausau is seeded 10th in the same bracket and heading to 7th seeded Cumberland for the first round. The winner travels to 2nd seeded Barron.
